Hiring Practices: News to Me

Here is something I have never seen before: See Who Applied for Tech Women’s Basketball Opening

Have any coaches seen detailed records of a search like this? What will the repercussions be from current employers, if any, towards candidates who did not get the position?

Will the outcome of being transparent with the search be that it may lead some candidates being more careful of which positions they apply to? 

This policy could result in a more limited candidate pool due to fear of candidates not wanting to jeopardize their current position because of the public nature of the search.

Whether this is good or bad is debateable.  It could scare some from applying, but that could also mean underqualified candidates may not risk it either.

Is this a good policy? Will this be a new trend in hiring practices in college athletics or was this request an abberation?
